What a Bubble app really costs: development time by type of product, the Bubble plan, templates, plugins and third-party services, with real numbers from an agency that has built 200+ products.

nocode development blog - How Much Does It Cost to Build a Bubble App in 2026?

"How much will my app cost?" is the first question almost every founder asks us. The honest answer depends on what the app has to do, but the numbers are more predictable than most people expect. This guide breaks the cost into its parts, with the prices we use at EazyCode.

The short answer

What you buildTypical timeCost at $40/hour
Prototype, landing page with sign-up, or one feature setAbout 2 weeksFrom $3,200
MVP with user accounts, core workflows and payments or integrationsAbout 4 weeksAround $6,400
Marketplace, SaaS or multi-role platform with an admin panel6 to 8 weeksRoughly $9,600 to $12,800

These are estimates for one full-time developer at $40 per hour, which is $1,600 per week. After a free call we confirm the scope and give you an hour estimate before any work starts.

The five parts of the cost

1. Development

This is the largest part. It depends on how many screens, user roles, workflows and integrations the product needs. A simple rule: every new type of user (buyer, seller, admin) and every external service (payments, email, AI) adds work.

2. The Bubble plan

Your app runs on a Bubble plan that you pay for directly. The right plan depends on your traffic and how much work the app does on the server. Bubble changes its plans from time to time, so check the current prices on bubble.io before you budget. For most MVPs, the plan is a small part of the first-year cost.

3. A template (optional)

Starting from a template saves design and setup time. We publish 75 Bubble templates: 43 are free, and paid ones cost $21 to $175 for the Standard license, with a $199 Developer license. See all Bubble templates and the free ones.

4. Plugins

Plugins add features such as OCR, maps, calendar files or bank connections. Many are free; paid plugins usually cost a few dozen dollars. Our own Bubble plugins are free or start at $25.

5. Third-party services

Payments, email, SMS and AI services charge for usage. Payment providers take a share of each transaction, and AI services charge per request. These costs grow with your users, which is a good problem to have.

What makes a Bubble app more expensive

  • Several user roles with different screens and permissions.
  • Money moving between users, as in a marketplace with commissions.
  • Many integrations with external APIs.
  • Complex rules: approvals, schedules, subscriptions, reports.
  • Changing the scope mid-build. It is normal for ideas to evolve, but each change costs hours.

How to keep the cost down

  1. Start with one core flow. Launch the thing users must do, and add the rest when they ask for it.
  2. Start from a template when your idea fits a known pattern, such as a marketplace, a booking app or a CRM.
  3. Use plugins instead of building features that already exist.
  4. Write down the scope before the build: a list of user roles, screens and workflows.
  5. Test the demo of a template with your own scenario before you commit to it.

Example: a marketplace MVP

A typical two-sided marketplace MVP has buyers and sellers, listings with search and filters, a checkout with payments and a commission, notifications and a simple admin panel. That is a complex product, usually 6 to 8 weeks. Starting from a template such as Ez Marketplace - Shop v3.0 shortens the first phase, because the screens and the data model already exist.
